Facebook Video: new continuous autoplay feature

Facebook Video

We don’t know about you, but Facebook is winning our hearts here at wezank. After the suggested videos introduced by the Social Media giants in September and the autoplay videos launched around a year ago, Mark Zuckerberg and his team have something new up their sleeves for Facebook video: the continuous autoplay feature.

What this means is that once the video you’re watching ends another related one starts playing automatically. Facebook already throws in some suggestions of related videos for us to choose from, however, with this new feature being tested, we won’t be able to ignore them. In other words, be very careful Netflix, Youtube and even StumbleUpon.

Continuous Autoplay Videos

According to a Re/code report, this new feature for Facebook video is being tested on Android and iOS. “A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the company is testing the feature for some users on iOS and Android, but didn’t offer much else.”

Youtube started using that a while back, but this new feature for Facebook video might just take over. The company already reported early this year that Facebook video posts are getting 3 billion views a day. We won’t be surprised if the number increases even more by the end of 2015.

Facebook Video

It is no secret that Facebook believes in the power of videos and knows where the future is going. Whether it’ll take on Youtube as the number 1 go-to platform for videos is yet to be seen. One thing’s for sure, the Facebook team will try as hard as they can we win gold medal.
