Nawaya Impact Lab: explainer video

The Nawaya Network develops the talents of youth with a marginalized background. The organization contacted us to create a video for their upcoming project “Nawaya Impact Lab” designed in partnership with Unicef to support unemployed Lebanese and refugee youth by helping them develop solutions to problems in their communities. We were surprised by the numbers, and we’re sure you will be too. This is how we developed the video.

The Brief

The brief indicated the video should provide a clear overview of Nawaya, generate buzz around the program, excite potential donors to start “giving”, and engage audiences on website and social media channels. The keywords were: inspiring and motivating, two terms that should show in the video and create empathy as well as the urge to donate.

The process

Based on the brief it was clear that we needed a story-line in the script that will create an emotional connection with the viewer who are in fact either potential donors or young people who want a change to share their ideas. The statistics came in to give the script a more realistic and factual approach in order to be more convincing. It worked. The video was both analytical and emotional, the illustrations came to life on their own once we opted for 2D animation. The color palette was based on their main identity: a soothing purple with complimentary colors in the elements. As for the voice over, it was a low pitched male, slightly apathetic as to be straight to the point, and allow the story to emotional rather than the voice.

The outcome

The video is on the Nawaya’s landing page, and was shared across their social media platforms; receiving over 66 000 views on their Facebook page.

Such videos are a great tool for societal impact. We believe in change, and so should you. So let’s take a step together and make videos that will change the world.
