Beirutiyat: the explainer video

Beirutiyat is a great NGO that celebrates responsible citizenship in Lebanon. They recently launched their mobile application, and what better way to do so than with a great explainer video?

The Brief

Beirutiyat was looking for a 30 second video tutorial that explains to users the main features of their application. The app contains two main sections: a public and private section tackling all the details you might need as a citizen of Beirut: from reporting problem and volunteer work, to donating, and finding a job, along with many other features. So the best way to develop the explainer video was to create a story, with a main character actually using and benefiting form the Beirutiyat app.

The Process

As you can see from the storyboard screenshot, the illustrations are very dynamic with a story that had a flow from start to finish and represented typical Lebanese citizens in certain situations. The colours used were based on Beirutiyat’s main identity, with reference to their signature houses you can spot in the picture below.

The Outcome

The explainer video received over 10,000 views on Facebook, and helped launch the app in a fresh and modern approach. See for yourselves!
