The best part of the 89th Academy Awards is predicting the winners of the night. No doubt our favourite category is the animated feature films. So why don’t we go through the nominees and try to guess the lucky winners. Fingers crossed!

The predictions
No Oscar category has been so controlled by one film company as the animated feature has been by Disney. Predictions favour a win for Zootopia, making it its 9th win in 10 years, noting that Disney also earned a second nomination in the category for Moana, which increases their chances of winning the category. However, while Disney and Pixar’s animation studios have big-time contenders, so does Studio Ghibli with “The Red Turtle,” which broke out at Cannes and Toronto. Which means that nothing is guaranteed for these production houses.
