Are you team Snapchat or team Instagram?
Yes, yes. A battle between Snapchat and Instagram in on the rise. We all went crazy when Instagram announced their “Stories feature“, taking a a full chapter from Snapchat’s book. We’re not here to judge or point fingers at anyone, because let’s face it, we’re gonna use both anyways. We just want to scan both stories and see how much of their plots have in common.
Filtered Instagram Stories
One of the main advantages of the feature is the ease of us. When you open the Instagram app, stories from the people you follow are featured at the top of your feed. Just click to start watching them. You can watch them as a slideshow, or swipe left to view stories from the next profile, and when someone you follow posts a new story, there will be a colorful. ring around their picture.
The trick? You can keep them as much as you want! And just like Snapchat, you can write or draw on your photo or video, and add emojis. However, Instagram Stories don’t have fun selfie lenses. Darn. You can’t stick your tongue out and become a glowing panda farting cherries with a bee voice.
Spontaneous Snapchat Stories
No as simple as Instagram because the different steps are in difference sections of the screen as you swipe left or right. To create your story, you take a photo or video and then tap the rectangle icon with a plus sign located on the bottom of your screen, and tap ” Add to your story”.
The trick? They last for a maximum of 24 hrs. Hence the competitive difference with Instagram, as Snapchat is more into instantaneous moments that go away rather than capturing and keeping a moment.
