Explainer videos: the legal aspect

Speaking of the legal principles in any business can be a bit daunting. As entertaining as videos can be, when you’re creating one, there are a few legal aspects you need to be aware of regarding footages, music and brand materials.

Legal images

One of the main legal guidelines we abide by when making your explainer videos is to use royalty free images and pictures. Respecting the right of other artists is very important: we either use graphics we created ourselves or have permission to use. It’s not as easy as you might think, we don’t pick an image we find online and use it in the video.

Legal music

As we’ve previously established, music sets the tone of your video. Just like photos, we only use royalty free music and sound effects that we have permission to use.Another option that we can suggest is to custom make your explainer video track. No doubt it has higher fees, but you would be creating your own music tune that fits your identity and makes you more memorable for your audience.

Brand Assets

96% of people don’t consider security measure before sharing their assets, which is why we are careful and strict when it comes to using your brand assets as well as your competitors’: they are intellectual property and cannot be used without guidelines or permission. To experience brand development, your brand should be consistent and well managed; therefore, the content of your video should be well studied. That’s where we come in to make sure the content of your video is legal and to work on giving your brand the spot it deserves without the need to offend the competition or use their logos, icons without permission.
