On September 9, the Apple event 2015 took place and like usual, the iOS team got people talking, some positively others not so much. So, what were the biggest announcements and what were some of the comments by the public?
Ipad Pro
A fresh new iPad is here! With a larger screen of 12.9 inches and 2732 x 2048 pixels, a 8MP camera and a battery life of 10 hours per charge the new ipad has a had a nice revamp.. but those are not the biggest. What has always been a big “no-no” to the late Steve Jobs has been introduced: the Apple Pencil.

Apple TV
The Apple TV made the news stand as well. The improved TV now has a Siri voice controller. Users could ask her to skip a scene, find a movie based on categories, years etc.. A simple “What did she say” will have Siri rewind the last scene with captions included. The Apple TV will also come along side a touch-capable remote making surfing the TV apps and games a smoother wxperience. “We believe the future of television is apps” said Tim Cook.
iPhone 6s and 6s+
Last but not least, the smartphone category. The new iPhone 6s operating on iOS 9 has a new 3D touch technology which enables new gestures like a hard press.
I could get an iPhone 6S but unfortunately there’s absolutely nothing wrong with my current phone.

Another addition was “Hey Siri” which brings up the digital girlfriend without the need to hold the home button. Not to forget the camera which can shoot 4K videos as well as, the Live Photos feature which allows for a Gif-like effect by capturing images 1.5 seconds before and after the picture.
Apple Event 2015
After the Apple event 2015, critics had one thing to say, the thing they’ve been saying after every Apple announcement “Apple introduced what Android and even Blackberry brought to the market long before”.
If you ask us, those critics have it all wrong. Apple’s strong point has never been introducing new products to the market and they never claimed to be preemptive. Instead, they build on what’s already there and add a certain “je ne sais quoi” to them to make them the next big thing… and that ladies and gentleman, is marketing at its best!
Here’s the event as it happened:
