New Autoplay Videos on Twitter
After announcing its new video features a couple of months back, Twitter strikes again. According to an Adage report, we might be seeing autoplay videos appear on our news feed very soon:
AutoPlay Videos
The feature is still being tested, but we don’t see the move as much of a surprise. Adage declared that autoplay videos will work on promoted video ads, videos uploaded directly from Twitter and those from its Amplify program. This new feature is being experimented in two forms: One where the entire video plays by itself and another where only 6 seconds play as a teaser on the loop.
Autoplay videos are a great way to get your message out there without hoping for people to click on the video. It only takes a couple of seconds for viewers to get hooked on the video, even if they weren’t planning on watching it.
Who will win the Video challenge?
Twitter has made it very obvious that competing against Youtube and Facebook in the video realm is a mission not to be taken lightly. The Social Media giant is behind in the video business, but hats off for fighting back and trying to win first place.
Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced, not so long ago, that his Social Media platform gets 3 billion video views each day. A video is considered “watched” if it plays for three seconds or more.
The project is still being tested but don’t be surprised to see autoplay videos next time you’re browsing your Twitter’s news feed. Interested in creating an explainer video for your business and sharing it on Social Media platforms? Contact us today for free consultation.
