wezank: your guide to Dubai

It is a long established fact that wezank creates amazing explainer videos, but little did you know that we are also great tourist guides. So if you’re planning to visit Dubai anytime soon, we recommend you continue reading, hoping our Step Conference 2016 experience will inspire your trip.

Dubai here we come

The excitement starts from the moment you pack your bags and hop on the plane. First things first, don’t forget to take the typical lebanese pictures: a selfie and a snap of your food. Now you’re ready.

When in Dubai

Once you land, make sure to soak it all in: the skyscrapers, the wide roads and the view from your 22nd floor room.

If you want to act like a local in Dubai, then get inked like a local. The wezank team got Henna by the talented indian artist Davina. Don’t ask, we have weird bonding rituals, but believe us it works like a charm.
Getting ready for Step Conference Dubai, the largest interactive gathering in the Middle East was a blast. Between getting the booth ready and checking the talks, the positive vibes were contagious.
We’re happy to say that our stand was the busiest. Visitors, startups, and fellow participants and neighbouring booths came to play the famous wezank challenge. By beating the high score, the player will have the chance to win a free explainer video!

Congratulations to Assist AE for having the best record and winning a free explainer video!

The talks were quite interesting as well, and we just couldn’t wait for the first day to finish in order to start the next one. The talks included various topics from the rise of new video formats, brand building in the mobile world, why is video dominating our feeds? that we covered through live tweets.
And after a long day, allow us to leave the description of the state we were in to a few elaborate pictures. Forgive their explicitness.
Say hi to our new friend whom we met as we were casually wandering in Dubai Mall. The dinosaur belongs to the family Diplodocidae. Did you know that the dinosaur exhibit was air-freighted from the US to its new home, The Dubai Mall? This one-metre bone on display is real and from the skeleton of the dinosaur.
We couldn’t miss the Miracle Garden in the district of DubaiLand, and neither should you! The garden spread over 72,000 square meters making it the world’s largest natural flower garden featuring over 45 million flowers planted. It was breathtaking.
If you’re looking for fun activities to do while in Dubai, you might want to consider The Lost Chambers Aquarium.

Needless to say, a team that escapes together stays together!  And after being the first team to try the Clue Club escape games in Beirut, we wanted to check the escape scene in Dubai, and Claustrophobia was definitely one. Exciting, brain teasing, and fun, the escape game brought out the best and worse of us! And we would do it again in a heart beat.
After an oh so long trip, it was time to relax, tell stories and remember the good times we shared! See you next year!
And that would be a quick hello from Tania all the way from Spain! Ciao!
