10 things you didn’t know about Tim Burton

Known for his dark and gothic fantasy films, Tim Burton is not only a movie director and producer, but also a writer, and a brilliant animator. For a discrete person, he didn’t leave much for the public to discover. So we thought about snooping around and letting you in on 10 things you didn’t know about Tim Burton.

1- What’s with the socks?

He wears a pair of pinstripe socks as a lucky charm at every premiere of his movies.

2- What happened in a week?

It took an entire week of shooting to create one minute of A Nightmare Before Christmas.

3- “Begin at the beginning”

Every character in  Alice In Wonderland’s Wonderland has a proper name.

4- Whose handwriting is this?

When Norther Winslow shows his half finished poem to Edward in Big Fish, the handwriting is actually Tim Burton’s.

 

5- Tim as a kid

Many of his movies are based on his drawings as a kid. One of many examples is Frankenweenie was based on the dog he had growing up.


6- Twisted “Hansel And Gretel”

The twisted version of featured puppetry, stop-motion animation and Burton’s distinctive visual style. The film never made to to TV or DVD.

 

 

7- Agrizoophobia?

Particularly the fear of chimpanzees. That’s right; as weird as it may seem considering the fact that he directed Planet of the Apes. Tim Burton has a fear of chimpanzees.

8- Dinner anyone?

All of his movies features a mysterious dinner scene.

10- Snorer

When Tim Burton was still in a relationship with Helena Bonham Carter, they lived in two separate apartments. Reason? He used to snore a lot it was intolerable.
